September 2013 is once again a record-breaking month in sales for the Stuttgart-based manufacturer.
Equivalent to an increase of 15.9 per cent compared to the same period of last year, the three-pointed star brand sold no less than 142,994 new cars to customers worldwide during the first month of autumn.

The year-to-date (YTD) sales since the beginning of 2013 consist of 1,062,638 units, which represent a growth of 10.1 per cent compered to 2012. The third quarter of the year was particularly successful in both the United States and China, with 368,201 vehicles (+18.0 per cent) sold around the world.

“Never before has Mercedes-Benz sold more vehicles in a single month than this September. The new S-Class is already the distinct market leader in Germany and Europe. Our compacts and the new E-Class are also proving hugely popular with customers,” said Dr Joachim Schmidt, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Cars and soon to retire. “Looking at the previous nine months, we can safely say that Mercedes-Benz will post another sales record for 2013.”

Mercedes-Benz also increased its market shares all around Europe and continues to be the most-registered premium brand in Germany, the United States and Japan.
