It seems that the Stuttgart brand has started 2014 while riding on the same success wave that it did in 2013, when it finally managed to outsell both BMW and Audi in the US, thus becoming the best sold luxury car maker in the land of the free once again.
In January 2014, Mercedes-Benz continued its record-breaking sales, with no less than 22,604 three-pointed star cars sold over the entire month, making for the best start of the year ever in the US.

“We knocked it out of the park last year and are moving into 2014 at a record sales pace,” said Steve Cannon, president and CEO of MBUSA. “The product milestones will continue this year with an all-new entry point on the SUV side in the form of the GLA, the next generation C-Class and standout additions to our high-end and high-performance lineups.”

BMW, for example, only managed to sell 18,253 cars during the same period, while Audi settled for 10,101 units, which is even worse that Lexus, Cadillac and Acura in the United States.

If the sales trend continues in the following months, we may very well see Mercedes-Benz keep its luxury sales crown once again in 2014, especially since the C-Class W205 and the GLA X156 will also be launched on American soil.
