The third day of Formula One testing at Circuito de Jerez went pretty good for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas team, as Lewis Hamilton completed a pretty good mileage overall, despite the afternoon bringing another technical problem which prevented him to continue.
Emerging for his first run just minutes after the green flag, the Englishman manage to complete 45 laps in the morning, with yet another 17 laps in the afternoon, after which a problem with the F1 W05's transmission ended the team's testing rather early.

Lewis Hamilton: “At the moment we’re definitely happy. We’ve shown the strength within this team through all the hard work that’s gone into getting the car here, bouncing back from the issue on Tuesday and then going out there and following up 97 laps yesterday with a further 62 today; it’s a huge accomplishment for everyone involved.

Proving reliability at this stage is crucial and every lap is precious, as this is going to be a seriously challenging year for every team. I’m feeling very positive after these tests and every day on track is another step forwards, but there are so many challenges ahead of us in the coming weeks and months that we just have to take those steps one at a time.”

Apart from the second lap count of the day, the total mileage also brought Lewis with the third position in the times sheet. Today it's time for Nico Rosberg to put the F1 W05 through its paces in the last testing day at Jerez.
