Back in September, the new B-Class compact MPV was launched onto the Indian market, priced from INR 2.15 million (about €39,800 at today’s exchange rate). It looks like it will soon be joined by another car based on the same MFA platform, the new A-Class hatchback.
An A-Class completely without camouflage was recently spotted in the Indian province Pune, indicating the launch is imminent. Like the B-Class, this will likely be offered only with a 1.6-liter turbo petrol and 1.8-liter turbo diesel.
Here’s why, in the words of CEO Dieter Zetsche, this is a car you should really look out for: "It is completely new, down to the last detail. In automotive development, it's not often you get the chance to start with a clean sheet of paper. Our engineers and designers have made the very most of that opportunity.”
