Media Shows Blank Contract Between Mercedes and Schumacher

Michael Schumacher will leave Ferrari for a position within the new Silver Arrows Team. Actually no, it's just a dream for the fans and it's not going to happen in the near future. He will never leave Ferrari. But wait, here's a blank contract from Mercedes Benz on its way to be signed by the 7-time world champion!

This is the long story short of the “Michael Schumacher switching teams” saga that has made the headlines in recent days. And the last part we have just discovered this morning, as German website express.de showed its viewers a detailed blank contract offered by the German manufacturer to their fellow countryman.

According to the aforementioned publication, the German officials already made the necessary steps to offer Schu a not-to-refuse deal to join their Brackley operations, the only question being when or if the 40-year old racer will sign it. If you want to take a look at the papers, click here.

Schumacher is currently on an ongoing contract with Ferrari, which he signed earlier this season. While initially expected to replace Felipe Massa in the Ferrari cockpit for the remainder of the 2009 season, the German also signed a 3-year extension to his current deal with the Scuderia, keeping himself a Ferrari-an until late 2012.

However, recent reports in Italy have shown that Ferrari's CEO Luca di Montezemolo would not oppose Schumacher's leaving the team, as long as it would fulfill the German's dreams of making an F1 return. The two are known to be very good friends and Ferrari would immediately make all the necessary adjustments to Schu's deal in order to let him go.

With everything about this move still being top secret, it's unlikely that we'll find anything until Silver Arrows announces its official lineup for 2010.
