McLaren to Open First Of Many New Showrooms in London

We’ve just brought you the story that McLaren has managed to outdo itself with the MP4-12C, selling its full production quota for the next three years. With the sort of performance that can sell a supercar without ant mythological references in its name or big wings on the back, you’d think the last thing on the British firm’s mind would be a large dealer network.

Quite the opposite, as McLaren Automotive will open a new flagship showroom at One Hyde Park, London, tomorrow, June 21st. But according to the official statement, this is only the first of many.

“The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, London and, as with every retailer in the new McLaren Automotive network, has been selected for its ability to demonstrate an outstanding track record in offering excellent customer service and aftersales support.  McLaren Automotive is committed to ensuring the experience customers have with their dealers in every market is as revolutionary as the MP4-12C sports car itself,” the supercar maker boasts.

In total, 35 locations in 19 countries will see new and advanced showrooms: Birmingham, London and Manchester in the UK, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich in Germany, Brussels in Benelux, Monaco and Paris in France, Milan in Italy, Madrid in Spain and Zurich in Switzerland.

As is to be expected, North America is also a market where McLaren wants to make a name for itself, so a wide network will cover dealerships in Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, Newport Beach, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Tampa, while in Canada the central dealership will be located in Toronto.

The Asia Pacific region will see a total of five showrooms opening in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney in Australia, and Tokyo and Osaka in Japan. Meanwhile, in the Middle East, Abu Dhabi and Dubai will cover the UAE, while Qatar, Jeddah and Riyadh will cater to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
