Inspired by the Formula 1 and Le Mans racing cars of the 1980s, manufacturers certainly like to use carbon fiber for the construction of high-performance road-legal cars. McLaren was first with the carbon-fiber monocoque of the mind-boggling F1, and from the looks of the 675LT Spider-based supercar here, McLaren continues to advocate for the lightweight composite material.
Dubbed by the Woking-based outfit as being “one of the most stunning creations ever to come out of McLaren Special Operations,” the McLaren MSO Carbon Series LT is decked in carbon fiber. Literally. Only 25 units of the 675LT Spider-based model will be made, and all of them were spoken for already.

With 40% more carbon fiber than the 675LT Spider, even the fuel filler flap is made from the damn thing. The aero-crazy front bumper is a nod to the 650S GT3. As the third model to carry the LT designation after the 675LT coupe and spider, the MSO Carbon Series LT also happens to be an almighty quick car.

Compared to the soon-to-debut P14 (or 720S), which is expected to pack an all-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, the MSO Carbon Series LT is animated by a tried-and-proven 3.8-liter blunderbuss. Converted to American ponies, 675 PS translates to 666 horsepower. The number of the beast is accompanied by 700 Nm or 516 pound-feet of torque, which makes for a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) scamper of 2.9 seconds, on to a top speed of 203 mph (326 km/h).

McLaren has yet to reveal the asking price for each and every unit of the 25 MSO Carbon Series LT, but then again, beholding such unbelievable attention to detail is certainly worth every penny. Given the £285,450 sticker of the 675LT Spider, this carbon fiber-laden thrill machine certainly isn’t cheap.

Called the MSO Carbon Series LT, the car combines expert craftsmanship with ultra-lightweight materials.
