McLaren MP4-12C US Dealers Announced

After in the middle of last month British manufacturer McLaren announced some of its dealers for its home market, it is now time to learn the name of six out of the eight retailers in North America to sell the 2011 McLaren MP4-12C.

The six dealerships are The Auto Gallery (Beverly Hills), Lake Forest Sportscars (Chicago), Park Place (Dallas), Miller Motorcars (Greenwich), Price Family Dealerships (San Francisco) and Dew Luxury Motor Cars (Tampa Bay). The remaining tow dealerships will be in Canada and will be announced at a later date.

"Just as the MP4-12C was developed from a clean sheet of paper, so was our North American operations. We have recently established ourselves with offices in New York City, and built an experienced team to manage the sales, marketing, aftersales and dealer development activities in North America,” said Tony Joseph, McLaren Automotive's regional director for North America.

The MP4-12C is powered by a 3.8L V8 twin-turbo engine producing 600 horsepower, mated to a 7-speed Seamless Shift dual-clutch gearbox (SSG). The supercar can leap from naught to sixty in the low 3-second range with a top speed of more than 200 mph (321 km/h).

The supercar will begin retailing in spring 2011. By the end of March 2010, McLaren announced it has secured 1,600 orders for the car. American fans and potential customers will get to see the new entry on the supercar segment at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California, on August 15.

“Our ambition is to develop and build a better vehicle that is supported by class-leading aftersales, ultimately ensuring better residual values. We will treat customers with respect, and there will be a unique level of transparency in how we conduct ourselves with our retail partners and our customers,” promises Joseph.
