Sweden is a big fan of powerful cars apparently. The Scandinavians might be known for their safe and eco-friendly approach in the car industry but as it turns out, not everything is as pink as it seems at first.
Muscle cars and supercars are not a peculiar thing to spot in Sweden and for some time now, we’ve known that the Swedes actually have a soft spot for roaring V8s.

This time we’re looking at a drag race between a McLaren 650S and a Lamborghini Aventador, two perfect rivals for such a purpose. Let’s take a look at the specs and see if the result of this contest is surprising or not.

The McLaren has a 3.8-liter V8 engine under its bonnet that might seem in over its head here in terms of absolute size. However, it also has two turbochargers to help out that take the power output up to 650 HP and 500 lb-ft (678 Nm) of torque.

Due to its light construction and 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, the Brit will do 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds. Yes, it’s blistering fast! Its rival is no slowpoke either.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 (its full title) has a 6.5-liter V12 under the bonnet making 700 HP and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque without any kind of forced induction. The sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) is similar at 2.9 seconds and it also has a 7-speed automatic at its disposal.

So, who should win it? Well, the differences are very small and in favor of the heavier Lambo so it’s going to be a close call. No spoilers here, check the video!
