Ever since McLaren Special Operations went official, the British automaker’s skunkworks created many massively tantalizing cars. This time around, MSO took the 570GT and worked its magic. The resulting vehicle is a nod to an F1 experimental prototype. To the point, the XP GT Longtail homologation model from 1997.
Known as XP Green 570GT by MSO, the green-painted grand tourer holds a starting price £21,000 higher than that of the regular 570GT. With all the optional extras (By McLaren Designer Interior, GT Upgrade Pack, and 5-Spoke Lightweight Forged Wheels in Stealth finish) bring the price up to £188,567, which is not a lot considering only six vehicles will ever be manufactured.
Those cars are going to customers in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands of all places, and each XP Green 570GT is finished in the historic paint. “McLaren Special Operations will continue to create limited-volume collections such as these six 570GT models in XP Green, to further extend customer choice,” said Jolyon Nash, executive director of sales and marketing.
The most luxurious model in the Sports Series, the 570GT in this specification prides itself on Saddle Tan pin-striping on the front blades, side skirts, rear diffuser, and doors. Two Union Jack emblems adorn the doors next to the wheel arches, with the car also sporting MSO Black and Dark Palladium trim.
Hopping inside reveals acres of Saddle Tan leather upholstery and a serialized plaque mounted on the center tunnel beneath the infotainment screen. The role of the plaque is to identify each XP Green 570GT by MSO as part of the six-strong collection. For the audiophile in you, the optional Bowers & Wilkins premium audio system with 12 speakers is included in the GT Upgrade Pack.
