Mazda’s Takuya Special Edition Models Arrive in the UK

Mazda announced today the launch of five 2011 Takuya models based on the Mazda2, Mazda3 and Mazda6 lineups with a total production volume of 3,894 units. The cars come with generous equipment levels, for competitive prices. All Takuyas are sold with their VAT fixed at the 2010 rate (offer applies to retail list price and doesn’t include some factory fitted and dealer fitted options).

“The 2011 Mazda Takuya range offers buyers genuine exclusivity, evocative sports styling and enhanced equipment, while representing fantastic value for money. Previous special edition Mazda models have proved hugely popular, selling fast and boasting impressive residual values.  The Takuya range offers yet another reason for value-seeking consumers that want something different from the mainstream to head down to their local Mazda dealership this winter,”
comments Mark Cameron, Sales Director, Mazda UK.

The cheapest model in the UK Takuya range is the Mazda2, which comes with a 1.3-liter 84 hp engine that accelerates the car to 62 mph in 13.6 seconds, while only producing 119g/km of CO2. Standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, a sports styling kit
and sports headlights. The interior offers side and curtain airbags, a trip computer, leather steering wheel and gear knob, steering wheel remote audio controls and four audio speakers.

The Mazda3 Takuya adds appeal to an already popular model. Standard fittings include 17-inch alloy wheels, sports styling kit, front fog and LED rear lights, plus automatic dusk-sensing lights and rain-sensing wipers. Inside, there is automatic dual-zone climate control air conditioning, black sports interior trim, heated front sports seats, an integrated Bluetooth system, a six-disc CD changer and leather covered steering wheel and gear knob. The agile car is priced from £16,695 and comes with a 105 hp 1.6-liter engine.

“Also in support of the Mazda2’s high value guise, is the recent announcement that it came sixth in the Parker’s Cost of Motoring report^. It is a great result and testament to the Mazda2's competitive price and great value. The Mazda2 lost just £2,022 and 23 percent of its original value according to Parker’s deprecation statistics,” Cameron also commented about the model range.

For UK customers with a big family the Mazda6 Takuya special edition models are available in three different forms: a 2.0-liter 155 hp five-door (£20,495), 2.2D 163 hp five-door (£21,675) and 2.2D 163hp Estate (£22,325).

All three variants benefit from an extensive equipment list that includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a sports grille, front fog lights, privacy glass and dusk-sensing headlights, an alloy pedal set, half-leather heated seats, auto-dimming rear view mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control air-conditioning, an integrated Bluetooth system and a six-disc CD changer. A choice of four metallic, mica or pearlescent colours is offered for both the five-door and estate models free-of-charge.
