The Japanese carmaker previously informed the media that the 2-based CX-3 crossover will make its official debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but that release also had a fine print somewhere in its body. According to it, the Mazda CX-5 and Mazda6 will also drop it like its hot in mid-cycle refresh clothes.
Up to this moment we were expecting to see minor visual and technical add-ons such as Mazda’s new LED Headlights Technology and a little bit of nip & tuck to the exterior of both models. But now we can tell you and also show you what the facelifted Mazda6 will be boasting with on November 21st.

Also known as the Atenza in Japan, the 6 sedan and estate in facelift guise was leaked on the web by a user of French forum WorldScoop. It appears that those few leaked photos are in fact scans from a Japanese brochure of the facelifted 6, but nevertheless, it’s easy to tell where Mazda's design team operated changes over the outgoing D-segment model.

The updated 2015 Mazda6 / Atenza is expected to start Euro-spec production early next year

Naturally, the differently styled headlight clusters adopt a lot of LEDs, but we’re not sure if that’s a real-world application of the LED Headlights Technology. The front fascia also adopts a more striking grille laden with aluminum, together with aluminum fog light surrounds and an aggressive lower radiator grille. At the rear, the bumper changed design insignificantly, as insignificantly as the taillight clusters.

The only leaked scan depicting the mid-cycle refresh of the interior shows us a bigger touchscreen monitor than what you get on the current model, as well as an updated climate control cluster, an e-brake, more metal trim for a more upmarket cabin feel and a different-looking auto box shift knob.
