Mazda seems to be doing pretty good, just recently announcing that the company has reached an important landmark figure, the cumulative production of Mazda3 models being that of four million units.
Yes, you’ve read it right. It seems that on January 22, 2014, after ten years and seven months of producing the said model, the compact car reached this incredible number. For those that might not know, the vehicle is also known as the Alexa on the Japanese automobile market and was first introduced in 2004 as a replacement for the Mazda 323. The company wanted a more performant model, something more in touch with the customers.

Thus, from that point on Mazda managed to exceed the expectations of drivers and deliver a second generation model, following up with the third one we have today. Also, in order to fully offer Mazda fans what they need, the company even released a hybrid version to the model line-up in Japan, promising outstanding environmental and safety performance.

So, it is pretty obvious why the third generation vehicle reached the four million production number milestone so quickly, having been sold in more than 120 countries and regions. Indeed, we’re talking about a core model in the company’s line-up, sales for this particular vehicle accounting for around 30 percent of the annual sales volume.

By fully redesigning the model for the third time last year, the Mazda 3 came to be the third car in the company that adopted the Skyactiv Technology as well as the Kodo-Soul of Motion design theme.

What can we say, it seems that they really did a good job with this particular vehicle and by meeting the clientele’s diverse needs, the Mazde3 model can definitely be considered a success.
