Massa Hails Great Relationship with Alonso

Not only Fernando Alonso, but also Felipe Massa insisted in recent days that his relationship with his new teammate is as good as ever. In fact, after only a few days spent together as Ferrari partners, the Brazilian driver admitted he has exchanged more words with the Spaniard than he did with Raikkonen for the past 3 years.

“Things have started extremely well. We've already started to speak a lot about the car and what to do to have a competitive car,” said Massa, during the Wrooom media event in the Madonna di Campiglio ski resort in northern Italy.

“I've spoken more to Fernando now than in three years with Kimi. Perhaps this was not difficult because Kimi of course did not like to speak much, but I also worked extremely well with Kimi, even without speaking. So it was fine. I think we can have a very good relationship and we can work extremely well together,” added the Brazilian driver.

The entire discussion of how the two will cope with the job of racing against each other for the world title, but still together for the good of the team, appeared after Massa and Alonso exchanged some tough words after the 2007 German Grand Prix. At the end of that race, won by Alonso, the Spaniard accused the Brazilian for deliberately trying to bump into him and take him out of the race.

“You've all seen what happened in 2007 when we spoke in Germany. I gave my compliments to him for the race and he said I had done something not honest, but it was not true so I just talked to him about it and then he said he was sorry, and that was it.”

“It's like when you go and talk to your mother and then everything goes on as normal once you've said you're sorry. Personally I have no problems, there are no strange feelings or opinions about Fernando,” added Massa.
