Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale on Track

Just a few days after its world debut at the 2010 Paris Auto Show, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale is being shown in action thanks to a new video released by the Italian automaker. The two-seater Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale was taken to the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia during a GranTurismo MC Trofeo test session.

Designed to be the "fastest, lightest and most powerful car in the Maserati range," the Stradale features an aerodynamic body kit, a sportier suspension, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and specially-developed Pirelli tires.

Furthermore, thanks to carbon fiber racing seats and the deletion of the rear seats, the coupe weighs 1770kg (3,902 lbs) which is 110kg (243 lbs) less than the GranTurismo S.

The car is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine developing 444 hp and 510 Nm of torque, mated to an upgraded MC Race Shift transmission that enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds and hit a top speed of over 300 km/h (186 mph).

“The GranTurismo MC Stradale is the pinnacle of Maserati's knowledge. A road car with racing genes,”
the company describes its latest model. “A unique two-seater with the unmistakable style of the GranTurismo, renowned for its performance, design and comfort. But also a car with the sporting heritage of Maserati Corse, whose name it wears with pride, a synonym of adrenaline, competition and continuous development.”

“On the one hand, a heritage of Italian craftsmanship and attention to detail. On the other, technology tried and tested on the track for unbeatable performance. This is the synergy that has given birth to Maserati's fastest, lightest and most powerful car.”
