Use the Force and get engaged. That is the latest way Star Wars fanatic Steve Dempsey used a perfect Lego replica of an Imperial-II class Star Destroyer, best known as Dark Vader’s warship from the epic space opera franchise. But it was not just the engagement ring that blasted his girlfriend’s heart and imagination, there is more.
Both his girlfriend Amanda and Steve are big fans of the famous Science Fiction franchise, but the fellow’s plan is not just about that. According to his Reddit post, the ship is a symbol for their love and the people inside it, while it shields deflects and defends them from any outside “force wanting to get in and destroy us”.
Darth Vader himself is holding the engagement ring and this also comes with meaning. “The reason why I picked Darth Vader was not only because he is one of my favorite [characters] in the Star Wars franchise but by what I think he symbolizes. Although he was a villain in the Star Wars realm, he still cared about those who [were] dearest to him, hence why he couldn’t kill Luke [...] I wanted to relay the message to my fiancee that no matter what, I will always be by her side, through the bad and the good, and in sickness and in health... to the farthest corners of the galaxy”.
Now, you don’t have to be a Star Wars fan to find this fellow’s proposal a heart crusher. Since he didn’t want the engagement-ship to be ruined in the backseat of his car, as Steve would take a daily three-hour trip for school, he skipped the romantic dinner part and he simply gave the ring to her in the parking lot.
To be honest with you, this engagement ring scene still won’t beat that Japanese man, who covered 4,500 miles to write the world’s biggest via GPS drawing. But it still got our attention.
