Here’s proof that just because you might be using a zebra crossing it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s safe, as vehicles won’t always have time to stop.
The following clip is from the Romanian city of Dambovita and shows a woman crossing the street on her bicycle when out of nowhere a trucks pops up. We’re not the traffic police here, but it seems that it’s going a bit fast for the city.
The bicyclist panics, but manages to avoid the truck by just a few inches, as her bike gets smashed and she falls to the ground. Had this not happened, she would have been seriously injured or even killed by the speeding dump truck.
The footage was reportedly taken by a camera fitted onto the city hall of Dambovita. This one definitely proves the merits of looking both ways.
