After receiving more funding from its Malaysian parent company, DRB-Hicom, UK-based sportscar manufacturer Lotus has announced plans to create more than 100 new jobs.
According to a recent statement, Lotus will recruit 45 specialist engineers, 40 manufacturing operatives and 18 graduates that will work on the development of new products within Lotus Engineering.
Malaysian company DRB-Hicom has invested £100 million in the Lotus company, which employs more than 1,100 staff across the United Kingdom. Last month, DRB managing director Tan Sri Mohd Khamil Jamil confirmed that Lotus will launch more versions of the Evora and the Elise.
“Lotus’ successes have always been built on our talented and dedicated workforce and as we embark on a period of strengthening, it’s crucial that we grow our workforce to support this. It’s a positive sign for both the UK car industry and Lotus that we are able to recruit such a high number of both experienced specialists and graduates, who will take their first steps on an exciting and rewarding career path,” said Mark Pym, group head of Human Resources at Lotus.
