Lotus owner DRB-Hicom has signed off a three-year financial plan to revive the struggling British sportscar manufacturer.
According to Autocar, DRB-Hicom has already spent in excess of $152 million to keep Lotus from going under and recent sales growth have convinced the Malaysian company to keep investing in the Norfolk-headquartered automaker.

"We have cleaned up and we are moving ahead," DRB managing director Tan Sri Mohd Khamil Jamil told Malaysian media. "We are coming out with the variants based on existing products — variants with improved technology, improved performance, improved quality as well as improved costing."

Jamil also confirmed that Lotus will launch more variants of the Evora and the Elise. Although no official statement has been made, word has it a new Esprit model is also in the works.
