During a fight for the fourth place, as the two entered the turn 3 of the penultimate lap, Harvick's Chevrolet clipped Logano's Toyota, sending the latter into a spin and down from the fifth place which seemed to be in reach.
After the race ended, Logano pulled his car alongside Harvick's and jumped to confront him. The efforts of several team members stopped him from reaching Harvick. This however didn't stop him from coming down hard on Harvick in front of the media.
"I was racing the No. 29 and he let me go in the middle of the straightaway and decided to dump me in the next turn," Logano said according to NASCAR. "I don't know what his problem is with me but it's probably not his fault. His wife wears the fire suit in the family and tells him what to do. It's probably not his fault."
"It's ridiculous. I don't know what I've ever done to piss him off but he's apparently stupid."
Harvick defended himself, saying the whole deal was only an accident, the result of a basic law of physics.
"I got into him here going into Turn 3 and he just races with not giving people any respect and not much room," Harvick said. "So we just wound up getting together. It's unfortunate, but that's the way it goes."
"Yeah, I just got in there and we just wound up getting together. Just two cars going for the same space at one time."
So far, NASCAR has not announced any sanctions for any of the two drivers.
