Loeb Reveals Love/Hate Feelings Over Rally Sweden

The 2010 World Rally Championship will kick off later this week, in Sweden, a place where Sebastien Loeb hasn't been particular successful in recent years. His overall results in the snowy rally includes only one win and 2 additional podiums, out of 8 participations.

Consequently, the Frenchman can only start the 2010 campaign of the WRC with mixed feelings, as he admits he sometimes looks at the Swedish rally as one of his favorite outings in the series. However, most of it has to do with the road conditions, which are yet uncertain for this weekend's event.

Sometimes I think that it (Rally Sweden) is my favorite rally, but at other times I can hate it. It all depends on the level of snow covering the road. At times, when the roads are iced over, with banks of snow on either side of the track and freezing temperatures, it becomes a fantastic fun filled rally,” said Loeb, according to Autosport.

On the contrary when there's no snow or ice, mud and ruts start to appear, and when they appear the rally starts to become a real nightmare with very little driving pleasure,” added the Citroen driver, who was set a 7-rally winning target this year by his team.

A couple of years ago, during the last Rally Sweden event in the WRC (in 2008), Loeb failed to bring home a single point at the finish line, as he crashed out of the rally during the first day of action. In the last 5 seasons of the WRC, Loeb scored 3 podiums (one win included, in 2004) and failed to finish the event on 2 occasions in Sweden.
