Petter Solberg Presents New WRC Livery for 2010

Petter Solberg revealed his new livery for the 2010 season of the World Rally Championship, as the 2003 WRC champion will switch to the title winning Citroen C4 for the entire campaign. The Norwegian stated plenty of times before that he will not continue his WRC career unless he'll have a chance of clinching the title, and that's exactly what his aim is for the upcoming WRC programme.

Having secured a Citroen C4 WRC ride from the late stages of last season, Solberg revealed his new “car colors” one weekend from the official start of the new campaign, in Sweden. The Norwegian used this opportunity to also test the car for a couple of days, after previously doing some competitive outings in the Swedish Finnskogvalsen and the Norwegian Svuly Rally Dahbi.

The test occurred on snowy roads, just like the ones that will host the season opening rounds as of this Thursday.

This is the year I really believe I have the tools to be able to fight at the very top again. I have kept dreaming about this opportunity for such a long time and we have all put in very, very long hours to make it happen. With fantastic support from our sponsors we have been able to get the budget together, enabling us to get the equipment to fight for wins,” said Solberg.

Before making his 150th start in the WRC, Solberg admitted that the thoughts of retirement are haunting him from time to time, but the level of commitment ahead of this particular campaign is as high as possible.

You never know, maybe it's the last year that I'm doing this. Who knows? These are tough times. So I'm going to put in every effort I can. I've been pushing myself very hard - I'm the lowest weight I have been since been I was 17!” added the 2003 rally champion.
