Lincoln MKR

Lincoln is trying to join major car manufacturers by launching the MKR concept at the North American International Auto Show, which will take place in Detroit this month, and will be propelled by E85 fuel.

The automobile will be equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 engine with direct injection, which can produce 415 HP, it’s connected to an automatic 6-speed transmission and “it is better than a V8”, according to the manufacturer. Among the high-performance engine and a “European” design, the all classic 21 inch alloy rims are also present.

If you compare the MKR with the Lincoln LS Sedan you will realize that it is an whole inch longer and four inches lower. If we are to believe speculations, the new MKR will reach 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds, but it will have a pretty expensive price tag, somewhere in the range of US$ 50,000.

As for the interior, you can note the elongated console made from recycled woods which has blue instrument lighting incorporated. The mohair carpet and cashmere seats found on the concept will probably not be featured on the stock version of the MKR, should it ever become a mass-produced model.

The automobile could enter production at the end of the year, in which case it will become available for purchase starting with 2008.
