The idea of buying another RWD car based on the Mustang other than the Mustang itself is pretty revolting right now. But the next generation is just around the corner, scheduled to arrive in one and a half model years, and it will be a complete rethink of the pony car, with a 2.3-liter turbo replacing the V6 and independent rear suspension.
The same architecture could be used by Ford Motor Company to make a better Lincoln as well. According to the Detroit Bureau, this is just one of the many projects that they are working on in order to re-launch the Lincoln brand.

Lincoln insiders have also confirmed that most of the cars they sell will also become available with all-wheel drive. Looks like they want a bit of Cadillac, a bit of Audi and a splash of Ford inside to us.
