This is the Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition. The limited-run model was unveiled right in the opening scene of the 'Dancing with the stars' live show, six months after the carmaker unveiled the concept. Unfortunately, the most interesting features of the concept are now, nowhere to be seen.
Hyundai is the exclusive North American automotive sponsor for the Disney100 Celebration. So it makes sense for the carmaker to come up with a variant that reflects the partnership, no matter how strange a Disney-themed car would be.

The Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Vehicle features Disney-inspired elements, music, and lighting to create the atmosphere of the real theme park parade for occupants of all ages, Hyundai claims. But we all know who makes the decision in the families who will be traveling by the Ioniq 5 Disney100, right?

The model was previewed by a concept car at the 2023 New York Auto Show back in April. But, unfortunately, the digital grille, which displayed Disney-inspired images, also integrating the headlights into a spectacular front end display, featured on the concept, is now nowhere to be seen. Also gone is the rear panel displaying similar animation between the taillights.

The car is painted in Gravity Gold Matte and sports Disney-inspired wheel styles. We are still looking at those wheels and trying to figure out what that actually means. To make sure everyone knows that they have a special version in front of their eyes, Hyundai fitted the Ioniq 5 with the Disney100 Platinum exterior badging on the front fenders. Furthermore, the logo is embossed on the front seats headrests and the armrest between the front seat. It also shows up on the black floor mats.

Because there can't be any Disney-themed product without one of the first characters created by Walt Disney, Mickey Mouse graphics show up on the door panels.

The car also comes with a Disney-inspired front and rear door trim strip. When the driver turns the engine on, the screen on board displays the Disney100 logo and pixie dust, while the sound system plays iconic Disney music.

The concept car presented at the New York Auto Show in April also featured a panoramic roof with integrated pixie dust. But Hyundai does not mention anything about it when it comes to the production variant, so we can only assume that is not there anymore.

The Disney version of the Ioniq 5 will be available in early 2024. Only 1,000 units will see the light of day. Hyundai does not mention if this trim is available on all Ioniq 5 variants or just one of them.

The Ioniq 5 is available with both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. The entry-level version sports a single electric motor engaging the rear wheels and generating 168 horsepower (170 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. A 58-kWh battery pack makes it drive as far as 220 miles (354 kilometers) by the EPA standard, on a single charge.

At the opposite end of the lineup, customers can find the Ioniq 5 N, powered by two electric motors, which bring along 641 horsepower (650 PS) and 546 lb-ft (740 Nm). This range-topping variant does the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) run in just 3.4 seconds and hits a top speed of 162 mph (260 kph). The model is equipped with the largest battery pack, with a capacity of 84 kWh.
