Lexus IS200d Pricing Announced

The Lexus IS can now be ordered with a four-cylinder 2.2 liter diesel engine that offers the driver 150 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The new unit is available for the European markets.

The 150hp unit is the new entry-level diesel version of the IS range, allowing the vehicle to increase its target public through its lower price and improved fuel economy. The engine pushes the car past the 62 mph (100 km/h) mark in 10.2 seconds and offers it a top speed of 127 mph (205 km/h). The unit returns a fuel efficiency of 5.1 liters per 100 km(46 mpg) and emits 134 grams of CO2 per km.

The Lexus IS200d offers a wide range of standard features that cover multiple areas, such as safety and comfort. This includes 10 airbags, ABS, ESP, as well as automatic climate control, an audio system that uses eight speakers, a Bluetooth system, a Smart Jey entry system, 16 inch alloy rims and a leather finish for the steering wheel and gearshift lever. The superior Executive equipment level adds cruise control, leather upholstery, parking sensors covering both the front and the rear of the car and 17 inch alloy rims

In addition to that, the 2011 model year will bring a few changes to the more powerful version of the diesel Japanese saloon. This uses the same 2.2 liter diesel unit, with the engine delivering 177hp and 400 Nm of torque. The powerplant has been tweaked to offer a fuel efficiency of 5.5 liters per 100 km (42.7 mpg) - down from 6.9 l/100 km(34 mpg) - and emits 144 grams of CO2 per km (a 25g reduction).

The 2011 Lexus IS200d can be yours starting from EUR32,900 ($42,400), while the IS200d Executive version starts at EUR36,000($46,400).
