How do you know Top Gear is not a show about cars any more, that it's childish entertainment? When Jonny Lieberman and Chris Harris make more valid points in one video than a whole series from the BBC? No, when they make a whole trailer video in Lego.
That's right, we're not making any of this up. It's an official trailer video made in Lego's 3D modeling thingie they used to make three Lego Batman movies and other weird things. Jeremy Clarkson is fast asleep at the beginning and Richard quickly falls to bits and has to use a wheel to substitute his lower body. Lego Jeremy is the worst off, misplacing his hair piece and having to come on stage with a mop on his head.
"In this behind-the-scenes clip, we can reveal exactly what goes on just before the boys appear on your televisual screens to present your favorites motoring program in the world. In a parallel LEGO Universe, that is. Yes, the chaps behind the world-renowned sticky bricks have helped us whip up an exclusive LEGO trailer," Top Gear claims.
The 22nd season of the world's most popular car TV show will start next Sunday (January 25th) at PM (GMT). Some of the highlights will include an Australian adventure as well as "reviews" of the Lamborghini Huracan, Mercedes-AMG GT, Eagle Low Drag GT, Jaguar F-Type R coupe, Corvette, Lexus RC F and Porsche Cayman GTS, to name but a few.
Editor's note: This is the side of Lego I hate, it's just about merchandise and gimmicks. The side of Lego I do like is about hand-building a Porsche 911 with a working engine. Do that on Top Gear and I'll watch you guys again.
