Say what you will about the PlayStation brand, but oh, boy, do they know how to put up a yard sale. And the best part about it is that it happens more often than not. The "May Savings" discounts are up and about, but the deals end on May 9, so if you want to take advantage and get some pretty "gnarly" games, now's your chance.
Of course, we have to start with the Mack Daddy of racing games, Gran Turismo 7. The 25th Anniversary Digital Deluxe Edition has a 40% discount and costs $53 instead of the regular 90 dollars.

This edition includes the full game, the ability to play it on both PS4 and PS5 via the dual entitlement, 1,500,000 CR (in-game credit), a Toyota GR Yaris with country-specific livery, 30 manufacturer and partner PSN Avatars, and the soundtrack. This package is a must-have for collectors.

The game is yet to be announced for PC, but leaks and rumors suggest it should hit the mouse and keyboard platform sometime this year. With the alleged PS5 Pro coming out in the fall of 2024, maybe we'll also see a graphically upgraded version with ray-tracing. Logic suggests we'll unlikely see an enhanced version on PC before it hits PS5 Pro, so maybe that's the hold-up.

PlayStation 5 Pro leaks claim the upgraded console should perform about 45% faster than the standard version, with new upscale software, the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), that should make games run at a more stable framerate. The ray tracing features are rumored to double or even triple in some games, so let's hope for the best for GT 7.

Another title that glares at a distance is Pacific Drive. If you played Dredge, this is just like it, but instead of a ship that scours the bottom of the ocean for upgrade materials, here you'll be driving and using a buzzsaw to chop dead cars for parts.

The entire adventure doesn't take longer than 20 hours, depending on your playstyle. Still, if you decide not to skip this gem, you'll end up with a wonderfully atmospheric experience that AAA games seem unable to deliver anymore. Pacific Drive is now 20% off at $24, down from $30, which in and of itself is a great deal if you consider the game time.

The Crew Motorfest standard edition is 30 bucks at half off, while the Ultimate Edition costs $60, down from $120. The game is awesome, and Autoevolution gave it an 85 out of 100, saying, "The Crew Motorfest is a bullseye for those looking for a casual racing experience." That still holds true to this day, although times have been kinder to the title.

Recently, Ubisoft shut down the online-only The Crew from 2014, so Motorfest came under user review assault on Steam. While there's nothing technically wrong with the game, it's currently sitting at a Mixed 55% review score. In the comment section, people are very dissatisfied with Ubisoft's policy.

If you own a PC but want to dodge all that noise and simply try out the game, you can enjoy a free demo on Steam for a few hours. The graphics are great, provided you have a beefy PC that can run Motorfest at high resolutions. Unfortunately, the framerate is capped at 60 fps, so there's that.

The first iteration of Hot Wheels Unleashed is 85% off on PS4 and PS5 at $6. We also reviewed this one and thought it delivers fast-paced, fun gameplay. It does have its shortcomings, but with the right state of mind and spirit, you can pick up on a certain kind of magic while driving toy cars in such a big world. Sometimes, you actually feel like a kid again.

While Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 – Turbocharged is an upgrade, sadly, it's not on offer and retains the full $50 price. However, if you're a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber, you get a two-hour full-game trial. A game trial usually means that you get to keep your progress should you decide to purchase the full version.

Autoevolution rated Unleashed 2 at 75 out of 100 and said, "From the adrenaline-filled races to collecting and upgrading the cars, whacky boss battles, the ability to design and building your own tracks, it is a dream come true for those who could not afford to play with Hot Wheels when they were kids or those who want to relive those memories."

GRID Legends is only six dollars down from 60 bucks, but if you're already subscribed to EA Play, you can play it for free. You can't say bad things about this arcade racing game unless you're really trying to bring it down on purpose.

It's not revolutionary by any stretch of the imagination, but it's a fun experience. The only annoying part about it is the single-player narrative that tries much too hard to stand out from the crowd. The developer attempted to relay the story through a real-life filmed "movie." Unless you're 13, you'll roll your eyes untill the cows come home at the good guy vs. bad guy cliches.

In other words, if you decide to buy this title, simply try to enjoy the gameplay and ignore everything else that might warrant a frown or a severely raised eyebrow.

The Dark Souls of racing, Dirt Rally 2.0, is only 9 bucks, down from 30 dollars. This game is so difficult it should come with a warning label on the cover and during the boot-up screen, saying, "Warning: It's not for the faint of heart or those with short fuses. Your TV could end up impaled by your PlayStation controller."

Although Dirt Rally 2.0 came out back in February 2019, some players regard it as better than EA's latest EA Sports WRC rally game. The latter is 20 bucks currently, down from 50. Dirt Rally is available on the EA Play subscription if you're unsure whether to cough up the nine bucks.

Other great offers include Wreckfest at $12, Need for Speed Rivals ($4), Need for Speed Heat Deluxe Edition ($10.49), Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered ($8), Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled ($21), Snow Runner at $20, and Riders Republic Complete Edition ($30).
