The last one of just 30 Anniversary 30 Jahre M5 BMWs brought into the US will be auctioned off on January 15 in Scottsdale, Arizona. If you wanted one but never got the chance to grab it, this is your last opportunity.
This will also be a charitable event, as the BMW CCA Foundation announced that the proceeds will be going to ‘The Ultimate Driving Community… Building the Foundation’ Capital Campaign. The aim of the aforementioned campaign is to raise funds for teen safety programs and the preservation of BMW history.
In case you can’t make it and still want to watch the auction to see how much this car can get on the auctioning block, you can do so on the Velocity Channel at 5:00PM on January 15.
The starting price isn’t available at the moment but considering that when it was imported the car was sold for at least $138,275, expect a lot over that. Why?
This is not just a car with a special configuration and some numbered plaques. This model is the most powerful one and the fastest car BMW ever put in production. It has 600 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, allowing it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds.
On top of that it is fitted with the Competition Package that brings a new rear differential, and lower suspension to the mix along with a revised steering rack. Basically, it’s the best M car you can buy at the moment and it will do all the things mentioned earlier while carrying 4 people in absolute comfort… Oh, and did I mention that only 300 were made?
