Land Rover LR4 Makes People Feel Really Safe

This is the nuttiest ad campaign in a long time, and we love Land Rover for making it all come together so well. The British firm wants all of its customers to feel safe inside the LR4, which is a good idea, as most SUV owners are really keen on occupant protection.

So what’s it all about? Well, some people might think of safety in a car as being something else, but apparently the LR4 is the place to be when facing an angry girlfriend you lied to, a bunch of your greedy colleagues you snitched to the authorities or a coworker with an affinity for Japanese swords and daggers.

Our favorite one by far is the first, featuring a soon-to-be-angry wife to be that finds out her man is not French, does not own a gallery, is not a doctor and in fact is a pathological liar. The way he drops the French accent when in the LR4 is so hilarious we almost spilled our coffee. Good thing he was in that car, safe from her bickering and complaining!

So what about the dirty cops? Well, we like that one because we’d never expect one to drive a brand new Land Rover. And speaking of the SUV, the new, fourth generation of Land Rover's supremely versatile seven-seat vehicle gains a new name is at it’s forth incarnation, after 40 years in existance and arrives with powerful and highly efficient new TDV6 diesel engine, fresh exterior identity and more premium cabin. The class-leading breadth of capability is extended even further with dynamic improvements for both road and off-road driving, and Land Rover has added a slew of user-friendly new technologies and features.

"The outgoing Land Rover Discovery 3 has well over 100 international awards to its name. But we've found ways to improve virtually every aspect of the vehicle's design and engineering - some subtle, some major. New design signals comprehensive engineering change under the skin, and now gives us the Land Rover Discovery 4,"
says Phil Popham, managing director.
