As the author of the “10 Hours of Walking in NYC as a Woman” viral clip showed last month, New York is the kind of city that puts quite a lot of pressure on its inhabitants. The sheer reason for which the video went viral was the fact that many were shocked by all the catcalling the woman had to put up with. Well, as it turns out, life in New York isn’t much easier for supercars either.
Multiple parodies and remakes have appeared after the original clip took off (it currently sits at over 36 million views on Youtube), with the most recent video of this kind giving us a Lamborghini’s take on the matter.
It’s not easy being a supercar - while the full-throttle ambitions of your owner may be pleasing, you have to put up with plenty of undesired attention that comes from so many categories of people, from ghetto guys to... policemen.
In fact, the owner and the car share the harassment. The footage shows “young millionaire being street harassed by people of all backgrounds” as its description states. Of course, there are also positive reactions, but the ten hours of driving through many areas of NYC reveal plenty of unpleasant episodes.
We experience the effect a Raging Bull can have on the crowds during our Aventador Roadster review in Monaco - on numerous occasions, we were forced to stop our shooting so that the gathering of tourists could snap the car with their phones of cameras.
Mind you, we’ve already seen online communities that flag touching other people’s supercars, so perhaps all hope is not lost.
