Burned Down Lamborghini Murcielago Offered for Golf GTI Money on eBay

Like many other supercars out there, Lamborghinis sometimes have a rather unhealthy passion for spontaneous combustion. We see this in person or on the Internet, but have you ever wondered what happens to these cars after they make it into the headlines?

We now have a pretty good answer coming from eBay, where a Lamborghini Murcielago is offered for Golf GTI money. When you see a Raging Bull being listed for GBP25,000 (that’s $40,030 or EUR31,700 at the current exchange rates), you should think about stuff like “there’s no such thing as a free lunch”.

You might have to patch this Lambo up a little bit before returning to the road - as the seller explains, this Murcielago has been through a serious fire. Moreover, the V12h heart has been removed, so you’re basically buying a damaged body in white. While the thing has been partially fixed (the body kit seems to line up okay) there are parts that need serious attention, such as the roof.

Perhaps to increase its appeal, the Murcielago shell has been gifted with an LP670-4 Super Veloce body kit, whose price is included in the aforementioned figure.

Is it worth the money?

As expected, the seller says it is. He mentions Murcielagos trade hands for GBP150,000 these days, while body kits such as the one fitted to the car are offered for around 10-15 grand on eBay.

The man even explains he has the complete paperwork, “including the original Luxembourg logbook.” Moreover, the supercar has been “internationally HPI checked, an operation for which he also claims to have papers.

We’re not sure about using this as a donor for other Lambos, but the Murcie shell definitely looks like an interesting starting point for a custom project.
