Lamborghini returned to SUV land earlier this year, when the carmaker presented the Urus concept car at the the Beijing Motor Show, but it seems that the production version of the car won’t make it way to the street to soon, if it will ever do.
Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelman, recently told Auto Express that the Urus isn’t a priority for the company at the moment, adding that if the SUV gets the green light, it won’t arrive earlier than 2017.
Lamborghini has taken care of its V12 league, introducing the all-new Aventador and is currently in an advanced development phase for the Gallardo’s successor. This means that the Raging Bull is currently taking care of its core models, so there’s no need for it to step into a new territory, at least not an urgent one.
Should the Urus become a reality, it will share the VW Group’s upcoming MLB platform with the next generation of the Audi Q7.
