Lamborghini Urus Rendered as a Family Car Is Both Blasphemy and Excusable

The Lamborghini nameplate has nothing to do with family cars, but on the other hand, some people out there still believe the insane performance the Italian brand is typically famous for would actually fit this segment.
As weird as this may sound, a Lamborghini family car is what some are interested in, and Instagram artist Andras Veres says he’s one of them. That is the reason why he designed what he describes as the “ideal Lamborghini for the whole family,” which is essentially a mix of the Urus and an Audi RS6.

The rendering combining the two looks intriguing, though it barely makes any sense at all.

After all, is there anything on the Urus that would fit a family car, other than the SUV body style? Sure, if you think traveling with your significant other and two kids in the back requires a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine developing 650 PS (641 hp) and 850 Nm (626 lb-ft) of torque. Because that’s what the Lamborghini Urus hides under the hood, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and then reach a maximum speed of 305 km/h (189 mph).

But if your family is interested in thrill rides and can’t wait to hop into the most extreme roller coasters out there, then a Lamborghini family car could actually work.

The Urus, for example, comes not only with the impressive performance we detailed above but also with the pure Lamborghini sound and feel, all thanks to a custom exhaust system whose roar can adapt to the engine speed. So, for instance, when you’re accelerating like a mad man, the engine offers a sportier sound because, after all, that’s what you’re supposed to hear at high revs anyway.

Eventually, a Lamborghini family car sounds like blasphemy for some but could be the everyday thrill ride for others. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on which side you’re on), the Italian company has no interest in building family cars for the time being.
