From football players, to 22-year old Saudi Arabian students, the Aventador is clearly a huge hit. After all, how can you go wrong with a 700 Italian horsepower supercar that looks like a stealth fighter and shoots exhaust flames.
If you’ve got the mighty Aventador on your side, there is nothing you can’t do, and toady Lamborghini SpA announced its sales figures for 2011. They’ve sold about 300 more cars than in 2010, as the total rises to 1,602 supercars, 23 percent over the previous year. Compared that to the 7,195 cars sold by Ferrari last year, and you begin to see the exclusivity of the ranging bull.

As we all know, the Gallardo is their most successful car ever, having been sold in over 12,000 examples now, and 2011 was also a good time for it. But the Aventador deserves a pat on the back, since demand was through the roof.

“The Aventador has achieved both public and commercial success for its performance, high efficiency and futuristic design," commented Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.
