High-performance models delivering insanely-high power are not even close to being attractive during recession times because most people are looking for fuel-efficient models and less-polluting models. Unless we're talking about Lamborghinis. The best example comes straight from the Italian manufacturer who has just presented the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, an "even more powerful, lighter and faster model than the Murciélago LP 640", as the company described it.
To give you a basic idea, know that the LP 670-4 SuperVeloce comes with a 6.5-liter V12 engine with maximum power rated at 670 hp and 0 - 100 km/h (62 mph) spring in 3.2 seconds. Maximum speed is 342 km/h (212 mph).
More specifically, the 6.5-liter V12 unit in the LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is 30 hp more powerful than the engine installed on the standard LP 640. "How's that possible?" you may ask. Well, along with the engine power increase Lamborghini also reduced weight in every single area of the car, as it follows: 26 kg (57 lbs) from the engine, 33 kg (72.6 lbs) from the chassis and exterior and 34 kg (74.8 lbs) from the interior.
The SuperVeloce comes with a sequential, automated manual transmission, while a six-speed manual transmission comes as optional.
And since we're talking about equipment levels, the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce has a wide range of interior features, including Alcantara and carbon fiber as dominating materials. A thing worth mentioning is that this model doesn't include a radio-navigation system as the Italian automaker claims "the music in a Murcielago comes from the engine compartment". Which is actually true since we're talking about a Lamborghini but, in case you still need a navigation system, the Italian automakers offers it as an option.
There's no word on its price at this point but, in case you really want buy such an exclusive model, you should really hurry up a little bit as only 350 units will be produced.
