We have already given you a rendering of the Lamborghini Huracan Spyder and now we are back on the topic to show you the car fitted with a carbon fiber roof. This is all virtual work, of course, but the real question still stands - what technical solution will Lamborghini use for the roof?
The late Gallardo Spyder came with a canvas roof, as did its Audi cousin, the R8 Spyder. Nonetheless, Lamborghini is expected to drop this solution. The choice is rather old-fashioned and nowadays there are only two ways of resorting to this. You either offer an elegant, traditional car, such as a Bentley, or an affordable one, like the Nissan 370Z. Well, the Huracan is anything but the two aforementioned types.
The Hurracan features a carbon fiber tub, which, despite Lambo still not talking about this, was engineered from the ground up to support the development of the Spyder. This would go well with a carbon fiber roof. Let’s just hope that Lamborghini doesn’t turn to the solution they’ve used for the Aventador Roadster. This uses a two-panel roof that not only needs manual operation, but also takes up the entire nose of the car, leaving no room for luggage.
In the Huracan’s class, buyers are more practical than those playing in the Aventador’s league, so such a solution is not too likely. Let’s hope Lamborghini does the right thing and gifts the Huracan Spyder with a folding hardtop, be it carbon fiber or aluminum.
PS: for the fun of it, the Huracan Spyder we have here was rendered in Rosso Mars, a color introduced by the Gallardo Super Trofeo Stradale.
