Hello fellow model collectors and welcome to the next thing you want for Christmas. There's a rule of thumb in our world that says the weirder and rarer a real life car is, the more important it becomes as a model. And they don't get much rarer or weirder than the Lamborghini Egoista, a car made for people who don't like sharing, since it only has one seat in the middle.
The Egoista is Lamborghini taking its stealth fighter design language to a level that makes everybody uncomfortable. It really does look like a combination between an F-117 fighter, a helicopter and some orange wheels.
This scale model is built by a company called MR Collection Models, who have perfectly matched the matte gray and carbon fiber details. Assembled with attention to detail, the 1/18 scale display piece features a full interior, orange canopy and a complex array of wings, blades and fins.
The selfish man's supercar was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Lamborghini brand. Its design belongs to Walter de Silva, which is amazing when you consider the guy usually makes VW Beetles and Golfs. The Egoista is an "intentionally extreme and unusual vehicle with absolutely unique characteristics", though its powertrain is very conventional, a 5.2-liter V10 from the Gallardo that was tuned to 600 horsepower.
None of this matters for a scale model, but the fact that Lamborghini only made one unit makes it desirable. Just tell you grandkids these things when they ask about the weird helicopter with orange wheels.
