Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Revealed Ahead of Geneva Debut

In order to create the hype and enthusiasm that befits the launch of a new Lamborghini, the Italian manufacturer released technical info about the car with the precision of a Swiss clock. We’ve seen just about every bit of the car in detail, including the new engine, rolling chassis and pushrod suspension. However, their methodical plan that would result in a big reveal at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show has been foiled by the lead time required for print magazines. Lamborghini, your teasing games are over!... but we love the look of the car.

The fine folks at WorldCarFans have stumble upon what looks like the first ever photos taken of the beast, shot by the Croatian Evo Magazine. As we expected, its design borrows heavily from the Sesto Elemento Concept.

The technical details regarding its performance have been available for some time, but in case you need a reminder, we can tell you that the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 uses a 6.5-liter V12 that churns out a hipercar-rivaling 700 hp (515 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque.

All that power is sent to the Haldex all-wheel drive system via a Graziano ISR 7-speed automatic transmission, which the Italian manufacturer says is significantly lighter than other gearboxes of its type. The standard sprint is dealt with in a blisteringly fast 2.9 seconds while top speed is rated at 217 mph (350 Km/h).

Take down the Ferrari posters from your walls kids, because there’s a new dream supecar in town!

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
