Ladies Love the Volkswagen Beetle

Don’t get too excited guys, as this is not for those of you who own a Beetle. Women are not attracted to men behind the wheel of VW’s new Bug, but would rather see themselves driving one. Or at least this is what a recent study conducted by the auto industry researcher TrueCar shows.

The study collected data from registrations of more than 13 million vehicles over the past two years, the Wall Street Journal reported. According to the study more men than women register vehicles in the US, despite the fact there are more women than men.

The study also found “there is still a sizable gender gap when it comes to vehicle registrations,” Jesse Toprak, TrueCar’s vice president of industry trends and insights, was quoted as saying by the aforementioned source. “Of the more than 200 models we examined, only nine were registered by more women than men and none of the brands had a registration rate that was higher for women,” he said.

Top 10 brands among women are Kia, Suzuki, Mini, Subaru, Nissan, Hyundai, Honda, Volvo, Lexus and Mitsubishi. The New Beetle was closely followed by the Nissan Rogue, Hyundai Tucson and the Volkswagen Eos. The top nine also included the Volvo S40, Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV4 and the Nissan Sentra.

This, however, contradicts every unwritten rule in the world that says women are afraid or hate insects... Well, if you can’t get rid of them, you might as well be driving one. After all, Volkswagen’s New Beetle is a quite attractive combination of looks and affordable pricing, making it the perfect choice for the fairer sex.
