LaCrosse eAssist Won't Waste Gas When Running in Place

It seems that automakers think you can’t market a green car if you don’t make the ad stand out by being weird or warped in some way. Thankfully, Buick’s latest ad for the LaCross with eAssist hasn’t managed to top the Toyota people person one for the Prius family, but it still way up there.
Basically, the video shows you one of the ways this mild hybrid vehicle saves energy. The idea is simple yet brilliant: people don’t waste energy by running in place if they aren’t moving (that would be strange!), so why should your car.

The eAssist system shuts down the 2.4-liter engine in the car if you’re not in motion. The manufacturer says eAssist is a "technology that shifts from gas to electric power, and back, seamlessly." This is a more complicated way of saying start-stop is a great thing, and we tend to agree when it comes to these sorts of cars.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
