US driver are embracing EVs more by the day, and even more so in Los Angeles than in any other American city. Apparently, L.A. drivers travel further than in any other city, and they also charge more frequently at public charging points, and at night (not during peak hours).
L.A. EV drivers are part of the EV Project, a €181 ($230) million project for the construction and implementation of charging points and infrastructure. EV drivers from L.A. account for about 10% of the project’s residential participants, with 31,422 Nissan Leaf drivers, among others, providing information about their style of driving and habits.

Based on the data which has been retrieved so far, Nissan Leaf drivers from L.A. charge away from home 24% of the time, 5% more than the national average. Also, they travel further between charges, 44.95km (28.1miles) as opposed to the 43.84km (27.4miles) national average, and when they do charge their cars, they generally prefer to avoid peak hours and do it in the evenings or night.
