KTM X-Bow, Star of Race of Champions

About 65,000 fans gathered the past weekend in Dusseldorf’s Esprit Arena for the motor sports season grand finale, where the world’s best drivers from variety of motorsport disciplines came to settle who was the best of the best in the “ROC Nations Cup” and the “Race of Champions”.

One of the stars of the show was also the X-BOW from Austrian manufacturer KTM. Deploying a special set-up and tire combination, the super sports car was taken by the drivers on rack to compete against each other in exciting duels.

Some of these duels were decided by mere hundredths of a second - and putting in spectacular drifts in the process.

The newly crowned Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel, together with his predecessor Michael Schumacher won the “ROC Nations Cup” for the fourth time in a row.

“The atmosphere was unbelievable when we were out of the track,”
said Vettel. “It very special, also for all the fans that came here to cheer us on and I am really thrilled that we could win again here in Germany in our home race.”

However, the “Race of Champions” ended up differently, as Schumacher and Vettel were drawn to first race against each other, with the latter being better.

But the absolute star of the race was the young driver Filipe Albuquerque who first won against Vettel and then managed to defeat record rally world champion Sebastien Loeb. The A1 GP driver from Portugal had qualified in the finals of the “ROC Portugal” drove to Dusseldorf then celebrated his sensational overall victory after driving, among others, the KTM X-Bow.
