Kia Secures Fleet Deal in the UK

Kia not only registered a great 2009 in the US, but also has a great start in 2010. The Korean manufacturer has just recorded its best-ever January sales in the UK, delivering 5030 cars to their customers. This means that their sales are more than 200% up compared to the same month last year.

The good news doesn’t stop here, as the Korean manufacturer has signed a deal to supply 92 cars to Avery Berkel, a market-leading supplier of retail weighing solutions. The cars will be delivered over the next three years and will be fitted with ISG (Intelligent Stop and Go) technology, automatically shutting the engine down when the car is at a standstill and in neutral.

Debbie Weaver, Fleet Administrator at Avery Berkel commented: “Our aim was to select an estate car that could deliver a solution to satisfy a number of key requirements. Not least, it had to have the functionality, reliability and space for our engineers to perform their job and as they spend a lot of time in the car, it had to offer good specification as well as a rewarding drive. We were also looking to minimize our carbon footprint, fuel consumption levels and reduce costs for the business – a tough challenge!"

“We were really impressed with the attributes of the Kia cee’d SW and it ticked all of the boxes. The real clincher was the peace of mind offered by Kia’s 7-year warranty.”

Andy Dunsdon, Regional Business Sales Manager for Kia said about the fleet deal: “We are delighted to have been selected as a supplier to such a well-established company. With the quality of the car, we were able to clearly demonstrate to Avery Berkel how the cee’d EcoDynamics SW would achieve all of its business needs, which included a significant cost saving due to Kia’s excellent value for money sales proposition."
