Kia's Global Sales Increase by 17% in November

Kia Motors Corporation released today its global sales figures for passenger cars for November that include export sales, domestic sales and sales from overseas plants. The company also announced its recreational vehicles (RVs) and commercial vehicles sales for November 2010.

The Korean automaker has managed to shift a total of 179,200 vehicles during the month, representing a 17.3 percent increase from a year ago. This figure bring the total year-on-year results to 1,908,096 cars shifted globally, 28.1 percent more than a year ago.

China have experienced the highest gains to date in 2010 of 44.7 percent (320,750 units sold for the first 11 month of the year). All of the company’s regional markets did well, with American consumers buying 43.0 percent more Kias(30,623 units sold in November) and Koreans 13.9 percent more (44,049 cars shifted in November).

“As we head into the final month of 2011, we are encouraged to see continued positive year-on-year sales growth in all of our major sales regions. Furthermore, we are well on track to exceed 2 million global sales units in 2011, which will be a milestone achievement for Kia Motors. All of our employees around the world are focused on finishing out the year in a strong fashion while maintaining strong momentum for the brand that will carry us over into the New Year,” Executive Vice President & COO of Kia Motors Corporation, Thomas Oh stated in the press release announcing the result.

Kia’s best-seller model in or November was the C-segment Cerato (known as ‘Forte’ in some markets) with 34,645 units sold.  The Sportage Rio follow with 22,675 and 16,038 units sold, respectively.  The Sorento mid-size CUV comes in fourth with 15,820 units sold and the Soul finished the five with 10,704 units shifted across the world.
