Kia EV6 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year Limited Edition. This is what Kia calls its limited-run EV6, which comes to pay tribute, as the name implies, to the award that the electric crossover has recently received in the United States.
You may not be able to wake up in the middle of the night and say the entire designation of the special edition model. But there are other important details that you need to remember about the car that Kia presented at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, if you should be interested in driving one home.

So the EV6 special edition comes in the model-exclusive paint job Deep Forest Green over Desert Beige interior. To make it clear to everyone that they are dealing with a special edition, Kia plaid authentic North American Car, Truck and Utility of the Year (NACTOY) medallion and the 'teaser silhouette,' that the carmaker made public on August 16, placed right next to the gear selector. That is an accolade that the South Koreans won with the EV back in January.

The model comes with features carried out from the Wind and GT-Line trims and seems easily recognizable in traffic. There are blacked-out exterior elements, including wheel arch moldings, front and rear fasciae, carried over from the EV6 Wind. Meanwhile, the model gets 20-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, and Surround View Monitor with the 360-degree camera. A heated, flat-bottom steering wheel and rear seats with heat function are also on the list.

Underpinned by the E-GMP architecture, the Kia EV6 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year Limited Edition is powered by a dual-motor setup. A 74-kW unit placed on the front axle works alongside the 165-kW one mounted at the rear for a total of 320 horsepower (325 PS) and 446 lb-ft (605 Nm) of torque. Energy is stored in a 77.4-kWh battery pack, making the car drive as far as 249 miles (400 kilometers) before it needs to be plugged in again. The EV6 can do the 0 to 62 mph (0-100 kph) run in 5.2 seconds.

Kia equipped the electric crossover with ultra-fast DC charging capability, going from 10 to 80% in just 18 minutes, plus the latest-generation heat pump, which reduces heat waste.

No word on the pricing of the Kia EV6 North American Utility Vehicle of the Year Limited Edition just yet. We are most likely to find out all the details closer to the market launch. In the United States, the EV6 starts at $42,600.

This year, the Kia EV6 GT was named 2023 World Performance Car. So we would not be surprised if the South Korean carmaker rolls out a special edition with that name.
