There's joy in the Kawasaki ranks as the green team has won the prestigious Le Mans 24 race once more.
Even more, it's the third time in a row for Kawasaki, and this makes Kawa the first manufacturer to win three consecutive races in ten years. And to make things even nicer, the green bikes have also set a new distance record.
The battle went on for no less than 23 hours, with the gap between Kawasaki and the direct opponent, Suzuki SERT, becoming too big to be covered in the remaining hour. Kawasaki had to confront some braking pads problems but the overall efforts have finally paid off.
Kawasaki riders Julien Da Costa, Grégory Leblanc and Freddy Foray managed to work very well with the team, despite the brake issues which had never been encountered until now. The race was kept at a very high pace right from the start and the riders managed to keep it hot despite the mechanical problems.
The Le Mans victory adds to the French Superbike and Supersport championships wins, making 2012 a great year for Kawasaki, especially on French soil.
