Celebrities like to stand out by buying new cars, especially rappers and singers, who need to get the younger audience's attention with their over-the-top choices. Justin Bieber is no exception, as proven by this Rolls-Royce Wraith, which is admittedly like nothing else on the road.
Bieber has never been shy about his car passion. But while he was one of the first to put a widebody kit on his Ferrari, everybody's got that now. Enter a Rolls-Royce that looks like a concept car for the road.
We get what's happening here. Somebody saw the all-electric 103EX Concept, and thought it looked good, which it does. But that's not a piece of tech any car company can produce right now, which means the tuner can fake it until Rolls-Royce makes it.
We say "tuner" because we suspect this is the work of West Coast Customs rather than something Bieber himself dreamed up. They've done a number of similar builds where celebrity buyers didn't have as much input as they make it seem, such as the Lamborghini Gallardo for Chris Brown, which was basically a fake Reventon.
As we said, the idea of copying the 103EX was interesting, but the execution is impossible. On the concept, the covers move with the wheels, but that's impossible on a real production car with moving suspension. So the bodywork gets flared out massively on the sides to create room for steering. Also, the two bumpers are weird. The front looks like some European tuning kit, while the back is awkwardly curved, ending with triangular taillights that resemble those of a Maserati.
The idea of massively widening the entire body of a popular celebrity car was also done on Will.I.Am's Tesla Model S a few years back. All this tuning is either a total waste of money or it will turn into a successful line of toys; there's no middle ground.
In any case, do enjoy the sighting video filmed by YouTuber effspot, who captured the Rolls on video while in a bosozoku custom car. Bieber was apparently just as confused by the sight of that thing as we are by his coupe.
