Spanish sports journalist Rafa Fernandez of radio Onda Cero says that Jorge Lorenzo has inked a pre-contract with none other than Ducati Corse for a Desmosedici ride in 2015.
Ducati responded with the voice of CEO Claudio Domenicali but according to In Sella, no firm, explicit denial was forwarded. Instead, Domenicali laughed: "Oh really? Then we should also hire Marquez. These two would cost us less than the actual development of the bike!"

Castiglioni also said that Ducati is not having a problem with their factory riders (Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso) as they are the best the "market" offered. Even more, the Ducati CEO added that the main concern is building a competitive motorcycle and that developing the bike is the problem Ducati must solve.

The same Rafa Fernandez allegedly said that Jorge Lorenzo's wage would also be increased with a hefty sum. Yamaha pays Lorenzo €9 million ($12.225 mil) a year, whereas Ducati would offer him a €15 million/year ($20.734 mil) deal.

Jorge Lorenzo is said to have agreed on this move with Gigi Dall'Igna directly, the absolute boss of Ducati Corse. Lorenzo and Dall'Igna go bag a long and happy time, as they won two 250cc titles with Aprilia in 2006 and 2007.

While the top 4 riders are all under contract for 2014 (Marquez and Pedrosa with Honda, Lorenzo and Rossi with Yamaha), it's going to be interesting watching what happens in MotoGP around September or October.
