Famous Swedish petrolhead Jon Olsson drove a modified Lamborghini Murcielago up a glacier. That is right, the alpine ski star combined two of his passions in the same feat - Lamborghinis and ice.
He announced he wanted to drive a Lamborghini Murcielago modified with rear-wheel-drive up a frozen mountain last week, and on Sunday the athlete published on his blog a video that shows how it went.
Naturally, for his snow adventure, Olsson fitted the Murcielago with winter tires that featured 16 mm (0.62 inches) spikes. These provided enough traction for the rear-wheel drive converted 640 HP Lamborghini, and the enthusiast said he’s euphoric with finishing the adventure with the car in one piece.
As you can imagine, driving a modified Lamborghini on ice could be tricky, and doing so on a glacier brings an entirely new level of danger.
Fortunately, Olsson’s stunt was carefully planned by his team, and no civilians were in danger. Do not try to replicate this without the aid of authorities, as you would need to close down a ski slope and ensure the route is clear for driving a vehicle on it.
Fans of Jon Olsson are aware of the skier’s affinity for driving Lamborghinis on ice and snow, as he has published multiple videos on his YouTube channel in which he is doing just that. Obviously, not all of his videos concluded in successful climbs to the point Jon wanted to reach.
Olsson’s team needed three years to customize the Murcielago LP640 you see in this video to the adrenaline addict's preferences. Jon says it has an “amazing charm,” and he is very happy with the build. He also has an Aventador, as well as several Audi models. Concerning the Murcielago LP760 SV he previously owned, Olsson said that one was “the most badass car he’d ever had.”
The video was shot at a ski resort on the West coast of Norway, called Fonna Glacier Ski Resort. Olsson’s production team used footage provided by drones, as well as two videographers. The clip you can see below was directed by Marcus Valeur and produced by Jon Olsson.
